Matatalab
Matatalab is a global manufacturer of STEM coding products, distributing to countries across Asia, Europe, and the United States.
The company offers a range of coding solutions for both B2B and B2C markets. By working closely with primary schools worldwide, Matatalab helps children learn coding in a fun, creative, and engaging way. Its products are also available for families to purchase, making coding education accessible to learners of all ages.
We began working with Matatalab in September 2022 after meeting at an educational event held at the NEC. Following an initial conversation, our discussions quickly developed as it became clear that Matatalab needed support with website redesigns, raising brand awareness within the UK education sector, and implementing targeted global marketing campaigns.

WordPress Website Design & Development
Matatalab’s previous website looked dated, with a lot of old content and too many images instead of text, which made it difficult for search engines to understand. We started by working closely with their marketing team to get to know their brand and understand what they wanted from the new site.
Keeping their brand identity consistent was really important because of their strong international presence. Our web developer created new page designs that followed their existing brand colours, fonts, and visuals to give the website a fresh, modern feel.
At the same time, our marketing team worked with Matatalab’s colleagues in Hong Kong to design an experience that would work well for both schools and families visiting the site.

Shopify Website Design & Development
The Shopify store also needed a refresh and a more structured layout to help improve sales conversions. Many of the pages, especially product pages, relied heavily on images. While they looked good, this approach didn’t support the best user experience or search engine performance, so we knew that had to change.
Our web developer created a clean, modern design that followed the same brand guidelines as the new WordPress website to keep everything consistent. Working closely with our Digital Marketing Manager, we restructured the site to make it easier for users to find products and complete their purchases.


Email Marketing Campaign
Matatalab wanted to increase its brand awareness among UK primary schools and inform teachers and decision makers about their pilot programme. After a brief discussion, we agreed to create a free activity resource to support teachers during National Coding Week.
Working in collaboration with Go-Propeller, an educational marketing agency based in London, we developed a 19-page activity pack. The pack was designed to introduce coding to primary school children at an easy-to-understand level and provide fun, exciting activities which they could complete in class. It also included information about the Matatalab Pilot Programme, encouraging schools to get involved further.
Once the activity pack was complete, we designed and implemented an email marketing campaign consisting of four emails. The sequence introduced Matatalab, shared the coding pack, sent a reminder, and then followed up to promote the pilot programme.
The Results
After targeting 10,000 UK primary schools, 1,183 schools downloaded the coding pack, achieving a conversion rate of 11.83%. We also received enquiries from two schools about joining the pilot programme, and more recently, a UK university reached out about using Matatalab in their education degree courses.

For each campaign, our team developed a strategy based on the objectives set by Matatalab. We reviewed target audiences, available budgets, product messaging, and channel selection before creating and presenting the plans to Matatalab’s marketing team.
Once approved, the campaigns were handed over to our creative team to produce content and manage setup across Email Marketing, Social Media (organic and paid), and Google Ads.
Following the launches, we monitored performance and carried out ongoing optimisation to maximise results.
