Totally Vapour is an on and offline retailer of vapes based in Birmingham. Supplying 1000’s of vape kits, e-liquids and accessories. Totally Vapour has ambitious growth plans and aims to become the UK’s leading supplier of vape products.

We started working with Totally Vapour a few months after they launched, they approached us for guidance on the best way to drive traffic to this newly built ecommerce website.

Angry Apple set about creating an SEO strategy to increase traffic and sales to the website.

Within 6 months we increased traffic by over 200% resulting in a massive increase in daily sales. The customer data gathered through these sales have now built a solid growing database which has brought massive success to email marketing and social media using our CORE marketing platform to support and sustain the business growth.

Search Engine Optimisation (SEO)

Due to marketing regulation and advertising regulations across Google Ads and Facebook restricting advertising for vape products, we set about implementing a flexible marketing retainer with a key focus on SEO and organic growth strategy.

Our objective was to increase month-on-month organic traffic and sales for vape products, so we focused our efforts on:

Keyword Research

We first conducted keyword research related to the company’s generic terms and brands on sale. Data was limited due to the nature of the product, but our discovery led to high-volume traffic keywords related to disposable vapes and in particular the brand Elf Bars.

This was to be our starting focus: Target Elf Bar-related keywords

Website Audit

After developing our list of target keywords, we carried out a web page audit of the designated product page. We redesigned key pages to improve conversion and Our technical team then fixed any recommended changes in terms of technical fixes related to load speed and page load optimisation.

On-Page SEO

From the technical aspects we moved on to look at the on-page aspects in the form of optimising the following:

  • Meta Titles & Descriptions
  • Optimising Images
  • Url Optimisation
  • Internal Links
  • Content

Off-Page SEO

Next, we began a well-planned and executed link-building strategy to significantly enhance a company’s online presence and drive organic growth:

  • Increase the domain’s overall authority.
  • Increase the number of high-quality backlinks to the website.
  • Improve the offsite anchor text towards target keywords.
  • Drive more referral traffic to the site.
  • Establish the brand as an authority online.

The Results:

Google Analytics and WooCommerce reports show the correlation between increased traffic and revenue. Initially targeting the keyword “Elf Bar”, we achieved a consistent top 3 position for the search term Elf Bar Flavours. With a search volume of 27K a month, we saw a massive increase in website traffic to the targeted Elf Bar Disposable vape page.

We then got to work increasing the website overall domain authority with strong backlink building and began to add more and more branded and non-branded keywords to Totally Vapour’s overall strategy. So far we now have over 350 top ten ranking keywords in Google!
